VISION, VALUES, & EXPECATIONS

Vision | Discipleship

Our goal is to use short term missions as a vehicle of discipleship; to help believers realize their true purpose and potential in Christ.

As people's perspectives about themselves and about the world change, we believe more and more Christians will become catalysts for change within their own communities, thereby ushering in more of God’s Kingdom here on earth.

Values

Christ-Centered | Transformation of eternal significance happens when we honor and acknowledge God in all our ways. Christ is and will be the center of our ministry.

Respectful | Everyone we encounter will be treated with love, respect, and acceptance as we choose to open our minds to different perspectives, personalities, and ways of life.

Relational | We will be authentic, we will value vulnerability, and we will trust God. We choose to work in tandem with others rather than alone.

Good Stewards | We are deeply committed to being good stewards for our partners, clients, and donors; understanding that every resource given and every team member placed in our care ultimately comes from the Lord.

Disciple Makers | We commit to walking alongside believers as, together, we are transformed in the image of Christ and gain fuller understanding of who we are and who He is calling each of us to be.

Faith Statement

  1. We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  2. We believe the Bible is God inspired and profitable for teaching, correction, and instruction. We believe the Spirit of God will always align with His Word and that we must know the Scriptures well in order to worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth.

  3. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and the substitutionary sacrifice for our sins. We believe He has risen and is now exalted at the right hand of God the Father. We believe He is our High Priest and Advocate, and that we await His second coming.

  4. We believe in salvation by grace. This is a free gift from God, given to all who believe in His Son Jesus, the Christ, and accept Him as the Lord of their life.

  5. We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every Christ-follower and freely imparts spiritual gifts into each one for the purposes of strengthening, encouraging and comforting the Bride, the body of Christ.

Expectations for our Volunteers

We are a faith-based organization and, as such, we require each volunteer to accept the following statements as a prerequisite to participation in any of our programs.

  1. Acknowledge and accept that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior and everything they will be involved in during this journey will seek to point to Him.

  2. Seek to care for and serve others on the team and all those they encounter along the way.

  3. Be willing to be stretched outside of their comfort zone.

  4. Be teachable and have a willingness to learn.

  5. Agree to participate in pre-trip training including required reading materials and team building activities.

  6. Accept full financial responsibility for the costs of the trip and pay whatever they are not able to fundraise prior to departure.

  7. Bring their best attitude, all of their cooperation and talents.

  8. Help to create a safe atmosphere and participate in all activities.
